This morning I woke up with a Muay Thai fighter image in my head. Yes ,Very weird even for me! I started reflecting back on my time in Thailand last year and how much I enjoyed it. I was also reminded of when I got my tattoo. Now I didn't get it the traditional way by a Monk with bamboo. I looked around until I found a Nice Tattoo shop with a lovely Vibe. I had no idea what Tattoo I was getting..I was just getting one! I had never seen the SaK Yant Traditional Tattoos before either,( apart from Angelina Jolie ). The Thai people also call them, Temple tattoos. I found this out much later. But When I did Whoa! The Imagery was amazing! The Lines, The spirals , Everything! I was looking through the book and this one Jumped up and smacked me in the head..I knew 150 % this was the one for me. Fast forward to a day before I'm leaving..Tattoo Time!! Yay! I layed on the bed to get Tattooed, Thoughts running through my head ..I hope he doesnt stuff it up, being the most prevalent. Tong was the tattooist and was one of the most chilled and relaxed dudes I have ever met, His energy was amazing. Very Humble with a inner knowing. He was a practising Buddhist . What happened next can only be described as a mystical experience . The minute he started Tattooing.. I was off, tripping the light fantastic..Colours washed over me , I can't even tell where I went. It was that intense. The feeling and Imagery is something I shall never forget. I had no pain, didn't even feel it..true story. 3 hours on the table, felt like 15 mins. I went so deep into another world, That my brain was trying to compute what was happening. Then I just released and went with the Flow. Time had no meaning,I thought I was sleeping at one stage.. It took me half and hour to come back to "normal" after the Tattoo had finished. I couldn't speak properly, I couldn't see properly ..I had to just sit and let it all integrate into my being. I have many Tattoos and have never experienced anything like that, Ever! I tried to explain to Tong what had happened, he just smiled and said..Ahhh Very, Very good! He then wrote something down for me.. "Look when you get home" he was so happy, as I was. I did look up the words he had given me , when I got back to Melbourne: this is what it means: "One phenomenon that is apparently unexplainable about Yant tattoo is ‘Khong Khuen’, a kind of possession, where the tattooee receives the tattoo of the Himapant animal and upon receiving the ‘Kataa’ (Mantra) blown into his tattoo from the Monk, he then becomes taken over by the spirit of the Himapant animal he received as a tattoo. I have seen this phenomenon many times, and find it to be unexplainable. Some people may fake it i am sure, but some of the cases i have seen are undoubtedly authentic. The subject is completely innocent to what happened when he was in trance. Thais believe that the Himapant animals can rise to protect you in times of danger..but i also believe that they can rise up if you behave wrongly and do not respect the rules of wearing a Yant tattoo. Anyone wishing to see this phenomenon should visit the Temple on ‘Master Day’ where thousands of disciples throng to pay respects to the deceased Master, Hlwong Por Phern." Source :http://sak-yant.com/galleries/himapant-animals/ Yeah man , couldnt have faked it if I tried! I had no Idea about this prior. But sure does explain what happened on that Table. Trance: Definitely, Unexplainable: Hell yes. Mystical : Bloody Oath . Rainbowalker
